The Miner’s Strike of 1984/5 was over 30 years ago but the past, good and bad, is ever-present in Horden and all the places like it. This song is the true story of a little girl whose Dad was a striking miner in those days. Life was harsh, hungry and cold, her Mam and Dad were not getting on and she was very sad. One day she pushed her money box over the table and said ‘Daddy, for you’; he has no money, so she wanted him to have hers to make things alright again.
